the story-
In the year, I was challenged to write a song that was a prophetic picture of what church would and should look like in 5 years time. This thought provoked me, to consider what that would even look like, and to somehow put my hopes and dreams for church on to paper.
I was sitting in my room one day just playing my guitar, and I started to think about this challenge. I closed my eyes and started to think about what church would be like in 5 years time, and I started to sing. That is how the whole song was written and when we sing it, we are singing about our own freedom, but we sing it as a declaration, that this is what church will look like.
We wanted to release the sound of what God is doing in our midst. Yes, it’s a declaration of what we want to see in our nation, but it’s already happening. People are encountering the heart of our God, and in His presence, their chains are falling and they are being released to dance – with their lives.
We want to be a people who dance joyfully on the chains that once bound us, as a sign and a wonder that God is a God who brings freedom. We want to see heaven all around us, in the midst of worship, and in our lives.
